Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

When you use Tramigo, we collect: your name, email, profile photos, date of birth, gender, nationality, travel interests, languages spoken, and connection preferences. We also collect location data when you use the Nearby feature, and messages you send in chat groups and DMs.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to: provide and personalize the Tramigo service, connect you with other travelers, show relevant content in your feed, send notifications about new messages and connections, and improve our service.

3. Information Sharing

Your profile information (name, photos, interests, languages, planned destinations) is visible to other Tramigo users. We do not sell your personal data. We share data with: Firebase/Google (hosting, auth, database), Apple (sign-in), and payment processors (subscriptions).

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely on Firebase (Google Cloud) servers. We use encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Access to your data is protected by Firestore security rules.

5. Your Rights

You can: access your data via your profile, update your information at any time, delete your account (Settings → Delete Account), and request a copy of your data by contacting us.

6. Location Data

The Nearby feature uses your GPS location to show travelers near you. Location sharing is optional and can be disabled in your device settings. We do not track your location in the background.

7. Cookies & Analytics

We use Firebase Analytics to understand how people use Tramigo. This helps us improve the app. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

This section covers our website at tramigo.app (including the blog). It does not describe the app, which is covered by the sections above.

We use Google Analytics 4 (a service of Google LLC) to understand how the website is used: which pages are viewed, how visitors arrive (for example from a search engine), approximate location (country or region, derived from the IP address — Google truncates the IP address and does not store it), browser and device type, and interactions such as clicks on download links. For this, Google Analytics sets first-party cookies on our domain (_ga and _ga_…, kept for up to 2 years) that recognise a browser on repeat visits. These cookies do not identify you by name, and we do not link website analytics to any app account or in-app data. Google processes this information on its own servers, which may be outside your country, under its privacy policy and its description of how Google uses information from sites that use its services. We keep analytics reports for 14 months and use them only to improve the website and its content — never for advertising.

Our hosting provider (Google Firebase Hosting) keeps standard server logs (IP address, time of request, pages requested, browser) for security and operations.

Your choices. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or use a content-blocking extension — the website works fully without these cookies. If you have questions about analytics on the website, contact us using the details below.

8. Children's Privacy

Tramigo is for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. We'll notify you via the app or email for significant changes.
